How flower 51 was born…

Hi!

If you’re reading this, I guess you want to learn a little bit more about flower 51. I’m Christine Wansink, the woman behind the flowers. This Auckland based business started off as an adventure and is founded on the idea that life’s short so you’ve gotta spread love & joy. I am a science technician turned florist, at the ripe young age of 51 pursuing my creative obsessions in the endeavour to create not only flowers but memories. Something I love more than anything about floristry is the story which comes with every single bouquet delivered. Flowers are gifted with an extreme amount of symbolism, from congratulations, sorry’s, thank you’s, condolence’s, or celebration’s flowers serve a purpose. I’m a strong believer in things happening for a reason and I find meanings through many things in life. This is why I love to personalise each arrangement I make enabling the flowers to speak for themselves.

Flower 51 processes…

Each and every arrangement I put together I put heart & soul into, I think my family would argue that sometimes too much heart & soul. The process of a simple bouquet starts with a trip to the flower markets where I personally select flowers which I feel fit the personality of my clients. I travel back in my newly acquired flower 51 van (toot if you see me out & about) where I get the creative juices flowing, truly creating each product with love & care.

The process then continues to wrapping & ribboning if the creation is a bouquet or binding & cable tying if the creation is a unique wedding masterpiece. No matter the occasion, the arrangement will be presented with class and sophistication unique to each individual orders requirements.  I’m excited by every order and I’m even more excited by out of the box ideas which require creativity and some dedicated time to “playing” in order to reach the intended vision.

So don’t be shy! Get in contact!! If you have any questions, any quirky ideas, or any simple & classic requirements I would love to hear from you!
